Off to Paris. And sharing my tea love.

I can't seem to stay away from Paris for too long, so I am off to the city of lights for the rest of the week. The forecast seems to call for clear skies so I'm expecting to do a lot of wandering around. Nothing beats Paris in the Fall, partly because it gives you an excuse to bring all your girliest scarves, even if you are only staying for a few days.
This trip I seem to not be thinking all that much about the food. I'm really just looking forward to seeing friends, hanging out in cafes and just plain being there. And there is the small matter of my bachelorette party that must be seen to.
Yeah, you heard me.
Could it get any better?

Tea Anyone?
You know how much I love my Mariage Frères tea. And I keep thinking that I would love to share it with some of you guys. I feel cheesy doing this as some sort of contest but I don't know how else to do it! So, here's what I'm thinking: leave me a comment if you are interested and I will put all the names (even if there are only 2 of you!) in a hat and draw for the person who I will send the tea to. When I get back I will announce the 'winner', who can email me with their mailing info. Sound good?

I would love some tea! :)
Whoot! Tea, please!
i love T!
That sounds really good and not cheesy at all. Have a great time in Paris! And drink tea with your friends.
Ooh, please put 'Hannah T' in there! Paris, my dream...
I don't want to be in the tea-off, because god knows there is no physical room for more tea in my kitchen (always room for more in my mind)... I just want to go on the sniffing tour!
Ah. I had my 'stag' in Paris, and no, it could not get any better. Have a great time!
viva mariage frères!! have fun in paris!
Totally count me in!! I love tea! :)
no need tea for me either, just enjoy yourself in paris!
oooh, it sounds like it's going to be so much fun!! can't wait to hear all the stories! :)
and count me in for the tea draw please!!
Paris! Girlfriends! Girly scarves! Tea!
Do things get better than that? I'm not sure it they do.
Have a wonderful time, my dear!
First of all - congrats on the engagement!!!
And yes, please include me in the tea shortlist:)
Try and avoid the crowds of England rugby fans that will be heading over to Paris with you...and I have my fingers crossed for some tea!
Yes, Mrs. Doyle, go on, I'll have some tea, thanks.
oooh, put me down for some of that lovely tea please!
and I hope you enjoy Paris
I couldn't resist, because you have raved so much about this tea and I've never tried it. If I don't win, I guess I just have to pick some up the next time I'm in Paris.
ps Love you blog!
Ooh! Tea! Yes, please!
And, as long as I'm here, I've just started reading this blog and I love it. Thanks for putting your writing out there!
Love your blog and love tea! Had a taste of Mariage Frere's Bolero a while back - AMAZING! However, it's not exactly readily accessible here in Canada... Thanks!
I will attempt to ply you with a story...
I am going through Mariage Freres tea withdrawls. And yes, this is as serious as it sounds! I ran out of my stash back in June, (here comes the "Gosh! I have got to send this girl some tea!" part of the story...) just before my horrible Vespa accident! Three breaks in one leg, torn legiments, etc... And no, it was not my fault... the woman in the car was on a cell phone!
I am still on crutches with no weight on my leg, flamingo-like...dull, nothing like a novelty.
I am regretably forced to depend on the kindness of strangers ("The stranger the better I alwa..." well, maybe not.)
But wait, that's not all, here's the real tragedy... The other day, after finishing off the last dusty bits of an oolong I found in the back of my cabinet, my friend, a well meaning non tea drinker brought me (are you sitting down?) a 500 count box of generic "Tea" bags. Dust in a pouch!
Of course, I have done the only sensible thing I could, I am drinking wine instead, but as you might imagine it makes getting going in the mornings a bit slow.
Please send me some tea... I am worthy... : )
Well, I think Brenda made a very strong case for her tea...
I cannot compete with that - my case is a simple "I miss that tea"... from the year I lived in Paris
just in case, include my name in that hat... and boy voyage pour toi!
:-)
You know how much I love MF tea as well!! Have a great time in Paris!
Brenda, you can order Mariage Freres tea over their website. They have a huge selection and will ship it right to your door!
IT'S PARTY TIME!! Hope you have a great time Michele! Drink loads.. (and i'm not just talking about tea!). Hope you have an amazing time. I'm in the for tea as I've never tried Mariage Freres.
Oh, I am currently in a tea moment, I have almost given up coffee completely . . . would love to try this (by the way I just discovered that you have decided not to quit blogging--and I am so happy, yours was/is one of my favorites and I am happy to see it is back).
I'm a tea fanatic, and I usually just order it from Oregon, where my friends live in Lake Oswego. I think that coincidence justifies being entered. :)
mmm.... my boyfriends favourite tea.
i somehow always end up in paris during august, where i'm either hit with a wave of heat or smacked with people flooding the city. i hope you enjoy the mellowness of fall.
oooh...me please!! Congratulations on the engagement and I hope you have a terrific time in Paris!
From Alaska--I love tea, historical novels, knitting, England, Paris, and of course, I delight in your lovely blog!
please add me to the drawing for the tea! I am a huge fan of good loose leaf tea, and have never had the chance to sample any MF tea... only hear of how fantastic it is.
I originally found your blog through googling tea (and something else, but can't remember now- that was a few years ago).
anyway, I would love to be chosen for some beautiful tea to enjoy in this wonderfully cool season here in Connecticut.
Please add me for the tea-draw. I first learned of the tea here, but haven't yet been able to get my hands on them. If I get it, I'm planning to throw a tea party.
To everyone who commented: thank you so much for your enthusiasm! I really wanted to be able to share it with all of you.
Zoe: I did manage to avoid the crowds by some stroke of luck. But I think it was because I was tucked safely inside my friends apartment with about 15 other people on the night of the game which was kind of the perfect place to be!
Judy: I love Bolero too.. I feel for you on not being able to find it very easily in Canada although Williams Sonoma does stock a select few if you really need a fix.
Brenda, wow that is quite a story and I totally believe you would win the most worthy award. And I definitely approve of your method of using wine as a substitute.
Michelle, I did drink loads. WAY too much. But it was fun ;)
Emily, I am thrilled to hear that my blog is one of your favourites. LOVE to hear that. ;)
Vanessa, gotta love a man whose favourite tea is Mariage Freres!
For the rest of you I will compile a list of all the comments I have received previously on where to find MF tea outside of Paris. I should have done that ages ago!
