From Paris to London
I won't wax poetic about Paris. Paris and I, well we had our thing. We had our ups and we had a few downs, but it was the love of my life. I mean, I dreamed of Paris ever since I was a little girl in ballet shoes. So when I boarded that plane from Paris to London in December, I was more than a little heartbroken. It felt like I'd been dreaming the last 16 months and someone pinched me and I actually woke up.
Oh Paris. How I mourned you.
Cut to March 2007.
If Paris was the love of my life, London is my roll in the hay, that part-time lover that keeps your heart racing and has you wearing your best skivvies all the time just in case he shows up unannounced.
London, you saucy thing, who knew you'd thrill me so?

G and I found ourselves at a pub last night. Sometimes you end up at one filled with suits, other times you're sharing a pint with a slightly rougher crowd. Last night, there seemed to be an endless lineup at the cigarette machine, and the bartender, with her generous proportions, wore a too tight t-shirt with the word BOUNCY across the front. Bouncy, indeed. We watched a guy spinning his cell phone round and round on the table in front of him, and got into a discussion about whether a cell phone's spinability should be a consideration when purchasing one.
G says most definitely, I on the other hand, remain unconvinced.

Delighted you are back writing. I love those mad pub conversations.
THERE'S the girl I missed.
I'm going to have to figure out a way to incoporate "bouncy, indeed" into my daily dialogue.
Cheers, darlin'
Yippee!
Nice to see you again!
Hobbies, friends & good food! Don't forget to bring your camera along for the ride.
Melissa
ahhhh.....I love the way you spin a phrase.
I personally would like a cell phone made by RubberMaid....odd habit of dropping mine....Cars by RubberMaid would be a good idea too....
Anonymous, thank you--and yes, those mad pub conversations are sometimes not always the most intelligent, but they're definitely fun.
Tara, I'm sure you'll find a way, the word 'bouncy' is highly underused if I do say so myself.
Melissa, I love your enthusiasm! As for the camera, well it's broken, so I'm forced to use my little pocket cam, which is a tad discouraging, but I'll certainly do my best.
Alisa, which phrase? huh? what? Maybe you'd just do better with a rubbermaid head. Hee hee. Did I say that out loud?
So funny, for me Paris is my fling--a great romantic weekend tryst, but come Monday morning I want to wake up in London.
As for Rubbermaid phones--mine is has a rubbery blue outer layer. I like to think it cushions the fall when it gets spontaneously ejected from my handbag and onto the sidewalk (who knows how these things happen?). Sadly, I think the rubbery bits keep it from being very good at spinning...
Tea, you know I think for me it'ms just that London brings out a wilder/crazier side. In Paris I walked around a bit starry-eyed all the time!
The rubbery cell phone protector sounds like a good thing. Although my friend Alisa is clumsy, I think she needs a body sized one.. ;)
That would be good....body by RubberMaid ;)
Hmm, I have been sensing a bit of a wild and crazy thing going on in your recent blogging. You went and got all sassy on us (never a bad thing, mind you).
Funny to think how different places might bring out different aspects of a personality. I know living in Asia brought out a different side of me--even my sense of humor got altered as no one there understands scarcasm (at least not in Japan); that was rough.
Enjoy your wild and crazy British ride:-)
