Sweaty days in Heidelberg have arrived..

Heidelberg.

Well it is a sad fact that my camera is still not cooperating. There are pictures on it, I promise you. I just can't get them off the camera and onto my computer. But luckily, I have extra pictures carefully stored on my laptop. And I could no longer fight the desire to post. So, the picture above is my city in all its green-treed and orange-roofed glory. This happens to be a picture of my neighbourhood, that I took just last weekend, before the aforementioned camera troubles.

Today was a scorching hot day in Heidelberg. But, safely under the protection of some SPF30, we did manage to venture out a few times. First stop of the day for me of course was the farmer's market. But I woke up late, and it was much busier at 10am than it usually is when I go at 8:30am. The fun is gone when you are fighting crowds, and I didn't get any free stuff this time. Not a single olive or even a wee log of goat cheese. It was just not worth the extra hour of sleep! Free stuff is free stuff, really. The second trip out included a post-breakfast Grande Iced Vanilla Latte at the local Starbucks (sometimes you just can't fight it). After recovering back at the apartment from our extreme sweatiness, we dared to venture out again. Several bottles of wine were purchased and one or two mugs of cold beer and a soft and salty pretzel were consumed on an outdoor patio. We whiled away the time watching the locals and tourists walk by, as we commented on the various shades of sunburn that passed us by. I realized that I am getting old when I could hear myself saying "Tsk tsk".

And tonight? Well that remains to be seen. But there is all that wine..

In any case, I hope to have something food related posted tomorrow, thanks to some creative thinking on my boyfriend's part to temporarily solve my camera problem. Smart fella he is.

That is gorgeous... sigh
I'm sorry that your camera is still not fully cooperating though.

I realised that we have another thing in common, both our partners are Computer Programmers? lol

Hi Michele,
'Glad you're back in business, so to speak, and your camera is (temporarily) working again. On the other hand I find, that when we leave our camera at home (doesn't happen too often) there's less 'pressure' to capture the perfect moments and we generally get to enjoy whatever we're doing that moment a little more >relaxed< - if that makes sense. ;-)
That said, have a wondeful Sun-day.

Hi Oliver, thanks for stopping by! I completely agree that sometimes its better to leave the camera at home. Seeing everything through the viewfinder can sometimes ruin the experience!
